Mia, it sounds like you are talking about what i have often heard Mystress
Angelique refer to as a "power (3rd) chakra issue"... the decision on
whether to use magic to fulfill the desires of one's ego, or to surrender to
Divine Will"...

there may be something inherently masculine and feminine about which way one
decides to go... this is speaking in an archetypal way, and not really
referring to actual male or female people... the "dominion over nature"
being a masculine trait, and "surrender to the collective" being feminine...
perhaps there is a time and season for each...
