Are you aware of what "Gloria" means? - 'fame, renown, glory', but also
pride..the 'vice' of the Sun, the point at which we meet our 'higher self' or
'Inner Master'. Some even call it 'Holy Guardian Angel' .
This being said, there is a thread on another list along these lines. Some
of the ideas might be of interest.
These inner names we recieve are personal mantras. They are keys to our
inner self when used properly. In fact, we have several of these 'Names' or
'mantras' depending on what level of the psyche we are accessing.
In fact, the names of Divine beings can also appear in this mode. For
example: the Name of God in Hebrew has four letters and 12 known
permutations (rotations of the letters) that are used. Since in Hebrew
letters and numbers (as in Greek) are the same, these names are all
cosmically equal if you will.
If you know the 'Name' that fits you best, you have a key to your inner
self. However, if you tell someone else that key, they have access also.
It is similar to when some folks in the neo-pagan community, or yoga
community, take on new names, or craft names as they are sometimes called,
and use them in their daily life. What was once an ideal, an asperation of
divine intent (to become 'Silverdovetail' or 'Frater Who is Like God
{michael}) suddenly becomes a point of ridicule and embarasement. People
poke fun at it, often in a personal and cruel way, and for someone naive
enough to expose themselves publically as asuch, it can have an effect on
their desire to continue on their path.
The same is true with such inner names when they are given to us, either by
a teacher, or best of all, from our intution (angel = 'messanger' or inner
message, intuition).
If you get such a name, keep it where it belongs, in your heart.
