Dear Loulou,

Margaret Laski in *Ecstasy* wrote an odd passage. "Ecstatics find delight in
proportion and harmony, not humour in what is awry. Nothing humorous is ever
a trigger to ecstasy. In ecstasy there is no fun whatsover." I guess I'd
disagree :))

In her chapter on Mescalin and Ecstasy, though, she quotes Huxley after
seeing a large blue car (shades of Osho! LOL) "Man has created the thing in
his own image...I laughed till the tears ran down my cheeks."

I remember in one ecstatic state I woke up with the thought "beginning to
remember the laughter of Being."

I tend to think "remembering" the cosmic joke of existence is one of the more
profound states. I've forgotten what it is, though LOL!

Love, Hillary
