After my somewhat flippant reply to Christopher's post, it occurred to me
that perhaps the different conclusions and types of experiences reported by
those who have had the God/Self awakening might be due to the primary
wavelength/archetype imprint of our souls. I'm not speaking here of past
conditioning, attachments, blockages or karma, but the essential nature of
our soul which colors every experience we have.

It could be that there are predominant wavelength/archetypes. Three in
particular seem most pronounced in the God/Self/Oneness experience: the
adventurous-explorer type; the ecstatic-sensuality type (the earth-hating
religions have profaned sensuality, but to the feminine religions, it is
sacred); and the love-passion type. So depending on our primary wavelength,
our experience and specific understanding of the Source/Self goes in
different directions. The adventurer-explorer eagerly throws off the
shackles of multiplicity/diversity and journeys on a solo Cosmic Star Trek
voyage "where no man has gone before" to play with all the possibilities of
unbounded creativity. This might be Christopher's type. (Anyone who relates
to the "boredom" of God/Self/Source is an adventurous-explorer type. For me
-- and most ecstatic or love types -- the concept of divine boredom is almost
inconceivable.) The ecstatic-sensualist simply dissolves into the oceanic
bliss of Beingness (Hillary's type, perhaps?). The love-passion types are
both split open and set aflame by love (me, Sharon and Nancy?). All three
are true aspects of the God/Self/Source.

I believe there have really been Avatars among us -- Jesus, Buddha, and
others who are not so well known -- who have fully experienced all three of
these archetype-qualities and thus have embodied God/Self at a more complete
level than most of us can attain. (Yet even they have expressed predominant
archetypes: Jesus was profoundly love-passion, Buddha seemed more
adventurer-explorer, and others who emphasized the "ananda" (bliss) of
enlightenment were ecstatic-sensualist.)

Even though any of us may touch upon these 3 aspects, it seems that the soul
has to expand through each archetype completely before progressing to the
next, which in terms of temporal incarnations can take eons. I suspect that
the Avatars mostly hang out on another plane, and only occasionally drop in
on this level to give some guidance and encouragement to us clueless babes in
the wilderness.

Just a theory...
