Subject: [K-list] More on the Nasty Guru Syndrome

If somebody has a traumatic experience with a spiritual leader-type of
person, this will surely colour a lot of that individual's later life.
Now, if I ask myself, why some people get the bliss-vibe with the guru and
others just have their weenies yanked, then isn't there a certain karmic
issue involved as well ?

Meaning that if one believes in cause and effect in this physical universe,
there has to be a chain of causes in the young person's existence, leading up
to that precise moment where The Robed One opens up his zipper - and the
foundations of everything the poor person wanted to believe in come crashing
down...

(I don't personally think it's a good idea to engage in sexual acts that
stress the power/manipulative aspect instead of the friendship/love/mutual
exchange-vibe, but that's just a preference, it feels better and more
fulfilling, the karma involved is probably nicer to deal with)

Looking at the whole mess from the other side - are there karmic reactions
coming up for the guru as well ? Will he then, sometime in the future, have
his genitals manipiulated against his will by a now bearded and orange-clad,
former glassy-eyed young devotee?

If the guru (he or she) is really one of the Big Guys in synch with the big
picture, do the reprehensible acts such as swindling the devotees out of
their dollars, faking materialisations, luring followers into having sex with
you, actually serve a higher cause ? Or do the wicked gurus just use this as
an excuse ? Are they completely aware of what they are doing ?

The lessons implied for the poor sucker on the receiving end could be: not to
trust anybody but yourself & God, complete surrender and finding something of
spiritual worth even in a completely disgusting situation, being more careful
the next time when out shopping for a guru ...

How much of these issues are coloured by our own minds as onlookers ?

And, since these things do seem to happen again and again, aren't they part
of the fabric of existence in all its perfect imperfection ?

Questions upon questions, gotta give my brain a break

Michael
