It is also considered to be good against laryngitis, although it didn't
do much for me when I had that (probably varies from person to person).
I took medicine after medicine with no effect for a couple of weeks,
then found out that pineapple juice (and liquorice) both contain some
substance that the body needs to fight laryngitis, so I drank a litre
of pineapple juice over the course of a day, and sure enough, it
walloped the laryngitis: the cure wasn't complete, but after a couple
more doses, it faded away for good.
