Hello Luminous Listpeople !

First of all : All the best for the New Year to all & everyone - threefold
hurrays and rows of bowing yogis !

I'm back at the computer after a little hibernation and e-mail service
seems to have become slightly erratic from the new list-server, i.e some of
the posts referred to on the list haven't arrived in my mailbox - anybody
else had this particular problem ?

Linda, you wrote:

I'm not sure whether this is the "correct" explanation, but to to me it seems
as if the chakra in the forehead is indeed opening. If the sparkling you
refer to is something like a little electrical jolt, a little bit like when
you touch a fresh 9-volt battery with your toungue (more pleasant though !),
it would seem to be like sensations I have experienced too. These have then
often been followed by insights and automatic revelations of a spiritual kind
- not necessarily earth-shattering but usually still very relevant. Then a
sense of bliss, harmony and elevation, leaving mundane stuff behind, often
follows for a while. I feel that these are signs that the shakti goes into
the chakra and enlivens it as it should.

Now you didn't describe this more closely, but if the sensation of pressure
is of the unpleasant type, it would indicate resistance. What I often feel,
is a kind of twisting and pulling motion in all the chakras, this can be
pretty painful. I'm still not quite sure of how best to deal with this,
concentrating on the chakra and relaxing the mind/body around it seems to
help, breathing through the chakra works too. ( Visualizing a kind of funnel
or straw that one inhales and exhales through while sitting in the middle of
the chakra makes this more efficient I think)

Silently vocalising the appropriate mantras/sounds also opens and relieves
the chakras - however, if the pressure you sense is due to too much energy
stuck in one place, it might be counterproductive to increase it even more.
This is quite a complex and hard to pin down issue !

Focussing on the belly centers (the "hara" of the Japanese traditions) pulls
the energy down from the head - the potential for trouble seems to be smaller
with free shakti stored in the center of the body.

By the end of the day, it's probably best to just experiment and see what
feels good ( & check out what happens) in all these chakra-related issues ?

Regards

Michael
