Well, since your mind made up the dream, in fact you are best placed to 
decide what it meant.
 
For info on the subconscious and how it can manifest as dream material 
in some people, maybe read my web page about dream interpretation. It 
may not be right for you, or it may suit your kind of mind quite well. 
The dream you describe is rather short, but think about the location or 
setting of the dream, what you know of this man and what he represents 
to you, and what the words he said are likely to mean ("wide open" 
usually means something like "accessible," "easily read," or "co- 
operative," for instance).
