Deirdre,

Samkhya yoga. The oldest of all. Analytical study of matter & spirit.
Matter being the body. spirit being whats inside it. If you believe there
is no spirit or soul- consciousness. It is one of the 6 orthodox ways of
seeing the light or soul.

Asamprajnata - a seeded samadhi. All yoga taught today is based on
Patanjalis yoga sutras. Most commentators use the above for describing
P.Y.S. 1.18. P. uses the word anyah- another. It is an interim state
before entering Nirbija a.s.- samadhi without seed.
