When you climb a mountain,
you can do it a number of ways ..
 even on the same path.

If your purpose
is to experience the view from the top of the mountain,
does it matter where you are on the path ..
for you will know when you get to the top ..
you will see the view others
  have tried to explain.
and you will see it with your eyes for your self ...
 and ..
you will know that you have reached
the top because you won't see
  any more mountains to climb.

Of course,
you could fear what is around every turn ..
you could spend time studying the geology
you could count the steps you have taken
  and calculate how many steps
may be left to take ...

you could spend all of your time
 looking at the map ..
with its strange sounding names ...
  and trip over the rock
  that was not marked ..

you could wander off the path
and try to find a unique path of your own
which may be easier or harder
than the one shown on the map ..

but,
because it is your unique path ..
no-one will be able to describe for you
 what you will find ..
only what they have found on theirs ...

and you could
 just enjoy the walk
 and the fresh air
  for the sake
of walking in the fresh air
