Wasn't it "49" ? ;)) >>

Could be, I'd say 49 is a more interesting number than 42, numerologically
speaking, what with 7 x 7 = 49 = 4+9 = 13 = 1+3 = 4 which of course is the
number of the original four elements and seven being the quintessential holy
number anyway ...

Speaking of tantra, the way I like to understand it is as a spiritual path
which includes everything, but really everything in life. Pain, disease,
destruction. And also all the other so-called unspiritual things such as
food, drink, physical love.
Corpses in the burning ground. And of course discipline, empathy, passion,
insight...Isn't this the only way to really see & apprehend reality ?

As for left-handed yab-yum tantra, as far as I have experienced & understood
it, when the practice is done correctly, inner fire and sexual energy is
stoked but not released. It can then travel up along the kundalini-highway
and massage the spiritual centers in the brain. It's easy to get caught up in
traditional pleasure-mode though..

BTW I received this by e-mail from a friend today, there's something a little
bit wise & tantric about the story - my apologies to all who might not like
it, I thought it quite funny and somehow vaguely relevant -

once upon a time, there was a nonconforming sparrow who decided not to fly
south for the winter. However, soon the wheather turned so cold that he
reluctantly started to fly south anyway. In a short time ice began to form on
his wings and he fell to earth in a barnyard, almost frozen.

A cow passed by and crapped on the little sparrow. The sparrow thought it was

the end, but the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings. Warm and happy,
able to breathe, he started to sing. Just then a cat came by and, hearing the

chirping, investigated the sounds. The cat cleared away the manure, found the

chirping bird and promptly ate him.

The moral of the story:

1. Everyone who shits on you is not necessarily your enemy.

2. Everyone who gets you out of the shit is not necessarily your friend.

3. And if you´re warm and happy in a pile of shit, keep your mouth shut.
