Hi List, Hi Angelique,

I tried the `pinch yourself with or without gratitude' experiment
while I was in the bath yesterday. It was quite clear that it indeed
did yield different results depending on wether I was complaining or
being greatful. I didn't particularly offer gratitude to `goddess' but
a mostly similar equivelent. Complaining about the pinch led to it
aching more. Being greatful for it not only hurt less but also left my
arm tingling in a not altogether unpleasant way. And I might add that
after having done that I went on to some self pleasuring which,
perhaps coincidentally or not, turned out to be a somewhat
`heightened' experience :-P

I'm personally not ready at this point to enter into S&M or whatever,
or to persue the endorphin response as a kind of drug to trip ot on,
but I do feel that it at least features as part of my explorations at
this time into being more greatful for the things which I usually
complain about... seeing how much light there is in a dark room, for
example. But at the very least I can confirm from the experiment that
gratitude most certainly lifts an experience more than complaint,
which I am beginning to apply in all kinds of ways and places. Thanks
for the suggestion to experiment in this way.
