One small step ...

One small step towards validation
for those service men and women who know
what is happening to their children

One small step towards recognition
by the government on an official level
of what some doctors and psychologists
have been saying for years

One small step that gives some light
to these service men and women ..
and their children .....

Because they have been heard by the system
that ordered them never to speak about their experiences
 even to their family and children

One small step towards an acceptance
of an understanding by those in the main stream
medical and psychology professions who are saying that
post traumatic stress disorder is inherited ....

and another step which supports and is supported by the work
of the human genome project
and the Australian Genetic Research Laboratories
into the cause/effect of genetic disease ...

Yes ..

there is a passion behind the words I write on this subject ..

Because ...

I have slept in the gutters with these people ..
 and their children

I have worked as a counsellor with these people
 and their children

I have listened to the children and the grandchildren
 as they recounted the nightmares of their
 younger years ...
nightmares which described atrocities
 which they had never seen
 but which their parents had been either witness to
  or part of

  How did they know...?

I have worked with adopted children who did not know
their real father ... and were able to accurately describe
events that occurred ...
 descriptions which were confirmed
 by their real fathers ...

  How did they know ...?

AND

I have had the same experiences from
ex-servicemen, women and children
from WWI, WWII and the Boer war ...

Stories told to me by children
 who were too young to read ...
 who were never told by their family ...

And when the stories come out of the bodies of the children,
 there is a change in their behaviour, social skills
 and their academic ability ....

Can you tell me, in your opinion

  How is it
  the children remember ...?
