Yes, I really know what you mean.

Like Ville, I bike a lot and without
paying quite as much attention as I probably
should and biking more reckless than
I should (love those jumps).

One evening I almost broke the pinky because
I snagged a mirror of a parked car which I
didn't see in the dark with the handlebars
and hand.

I suspect the accident proneness has something
to do with a change in focus and attention
that has come about the last few months.

Now a lot of time is spent watching
the movements inside the mind/body.
Immediately after
sitting down to read, doesn't matter what it is,
this state of watching
and enjoying the movement of
the energy appears and does not
leave until something in the external
world catches my attention.

When fixed on external activities, the mind
is focused on the activity at hand to
an extreme degree.
I think this is why I forget the open cupboard
doors 10 seconds after having opened them
and bang my head on them.

The joy of doing when in activity and
the joy of watching when in rest
takes a lot of focus away from things such
as corners and cupboards.

My friends have now suggested I pad
all cupboard door corners and furniture
legs and start wearing a bike helmet. ;))

Best regards,

Amanda.
