If I have a choice, I'll eat vegetarian/light food. It makes me feel much
better than eating meat (I really don't think about it in terms of
compassion, meat just makes me feel "slower" and less aware). The same
with fatty foods.

However, I have to eat some meat/fat in order to gain some weight (I'm
thin as a wire right now, due to my ascetic tendencies as far as food is
concerned).

Someday, when I can afford it (food is quite expensive in Finland), I will
probably choose a vegetarian diet. The mere thought of wasting money on
food right now is revolting... I would rather spare it for bad days and
for that "major upgrade" to my computer that I might never make. That's
one of the k-unrelated obsessions I have.

BTW, I read somewhere that potatoes can cause depression. Can't remember
if it was due to anti-tryptophane, anti-serotoninine or anti-dopamine
effects...
