English is my second language, speakingly I am quite good at it, even as
that Dutch accent of mine comes through louder and clearer as the years go
on. My speaking differs a lot from my writing style. When I speak I tend to
aim my words to the listener with uncanny verbal economy, sharpness and
directness... If you would not see my face and hear my
vocal inflections you would think that I am harsh, abrupt, arrogant and that
I take no shit. All that used to be true, but now only the
observation -about
me taking no shit, is true. When ppl. hear from me they are not willing to
take
any bull either. When I speak, my facial expressions are authentically
friendly they tell me, which is good because if my words where not framed by
my friendly
smiles (ha!) they would indeed be harsh and unkind. I don't think when I
speak, I
speak the words the listener as yet cannot formulate but needs to hear to
heal
themselves. (How do I know? They tell me after...)
Writingly, I have been known for long posts, but as I have so little time
now to respond, I try to use my words effectively. I try to write concisely
so as not to leave any space in between the meaning of my
words. As well, I don't want anybody to read anything between the lines as I
have no control over what they would read there.
It is important that the readers know that what they understand is what I
meant,
not what they though I meant.
Did I mean what you understood?

I almost needed a clue to get what you meant but when that 2X4 struck I saw
the light.
