Subject: [K-list] "horror" stories of awakening...why?

Having read lots of "horror stories" concerning the "side effects" of
kundalini
awakening I have to wonder why it happens.

Is it blocked chakras, insufficient spiritual development, a too rigid
intellect
or perhaps a physical reaction to an energy not normally active within
the body?

I'd like to hear some discussion on the WHY, if anyone is interested.
