   I agree that it could be related to auditory fluctuations. I once did a
thesus paper on the Bicameral Mind and found the subject fascinating. It
relates to the ability of both sides of the brain to communicate with one
another. In the days of the myths and legends, the theory is that the
"gods" that the heros actually spoke with and heard were the right side of
the brain trying to communicate with the left. The connection wasn't
physical yet or at least developed enough yet, so it had to actually
manifest the gods and their voices to warn and help out the person. It is a
intersting theory. I would also recommend this book for anyone who is
interested in how the mind works. Much love, Julie
