Hi Pat,

'People need validation' was not really what I was
saying to Chris, though I can see where you might
have 'heard' this.

What I was suggesting was that sometimes the desire
for validation is hidden inside... hidden even from our
own eyes ....and even when we are teaching and encouraging
others to awaken to our inner, hidden truths....our own
inner reality.

When I recognize those spaces within me that seek validation
from others, I know I have recognized a 'hole' that needs
to be made 'whole'. I know I'm seeing a space where I do
not trust my Self, do not love my Self, or do not honor
my Self....and thus am looking for *someone else* to make
me feel at One. It has never worked for me.

(Well, never for more than a minute anyway. <s>)

>From the Gospel of Thomas:

"When you make the two into one, and when you make
the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner,
and the upper like the lower, and when you make male
and female into a single one, so that the male will
not be male nor the female the female, when you make
eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a
foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image,
then you will enter [the kingdom]."

This saying from the Gospel of Thomas seems to me to
be describing the process of Kundalini....the making
of two into one....and clearing away whatever obstructs
that end.

I would suggest that for those in whom the Kundalini
has successfully risen, 'validation' from others is no
longer a concern.

............and there lies the
>issue.............some can honestly admit it.....................and
>some can not.

It is not always a question of pridefulness.

If my experience is of any value, often we
simply just don't 'see' it.

At the risk of boring you with the Gospel of Thomas,
here's another saying that seems to speak to this
question:

"Jesus said, 'Recognize what is in your sight,
and that which is hidden from you will become
plain to you. For there is nothing hidden which
 will not become manifest."

>There is nothing wrong with needing. NO one is an
>island.

I agree. There is nothing wrong with needing.

Problems do tend to arise when we begin denying
or judging or manipulating ours or others 'neediness',
rather than simply embracing it....becoming 'one'
with it.

Love,
Melody
