It may be wise to be without personal judgment, but this is distinct from
discernment. With discernment, you end up accurately judging all things yet
with no ego agenda in place. Thus no distortion. Being judgmental has to do
with deciding another person is bad as a justification for separating yourself
from them. It is a way of being designed to keep distance in place. That is
very distinct from discernment which can be analytical and crafty, but with
pure motives such that the result is unnerving goodness and structures to
disrupt to complacent and move then into fulfilling action. Discernment
"judges" and "evaluates" without being judgmental. Instead it's motives are to
move toward others in harmonious intimacy. I want to caution against
collapsing "judgment" with "discernment" such that you go all around all
wide-eyed and child-like but end up being childish and foolish. We tend to
react against the unlove that being judgmental comes from (its context). But
do not throw the baby out with the bath water so to speak by also rejecting
discernment which is a tool of love. Both being judgmental and being
discerning could be said to "judge events and others" but one is from a
context of separation and the other is from an intention of reconciled unity.
Kinda abstract huh? It needs a story to illustrate it.

Can you really out that kind of belief? I assert that you would not want your
airplane pilot to adopt this attitude and decide that ANY approach to the
airport will work just fine, thinking, "Any manifestation of my flying is just
as good as any other and all expressions of landing are equally valid and will
work just as well." Instead you would want him to do it just right. To come in
at the RIGHT angle, the RIGHT speed, and on the RIGHT runway. etc. What if
there ARE rules and standards? Not that 1 runway is somehow morally superior
to another runway, but that one simply works and the other path ends up
crashing and burning. Likewise no human being is morally superior to anyone
else. We are all lack perfection in the absolute sense and stand
shoulder-to-shoulder all in need of grace. Hence we need mercy instead of
judgementalism.

regarding: "we're all awakened all the time, yet strangely unaware of it."

Then enlightenment is meaningless. Being "awakened" but asleep to being awake
lapses into absurdity. This is said with a couple of my presuppositions: (1)
that while divine truth is paradox absurdity is not a useful place to stay
stuck in, (2) that there is a "right" way to be awakened and that is to be
aware of it so you can consciously live at purpose. That it is "better" to be
conscious so you can (a) experience yourself and (b) get who other people, and
(c) acknowledge what you cause in the world. I presuppose that when this is
more and more the quality of your life, you are becomeeing more creatively
alive instead of reactively surviving.
