Subject: Re: [K-list] seemingly stupid questions about K
From: Pokimontaz

If the Ego is what makes us think only in terms of "me, mine, I" then
relaxing one's ego can be associated with a degree on enlightenment on the
part of that ego. Once u relax the ego and subsequently not base the
universe around "i" you begin to see that we are all "one" and
together...that is the basic principle fo the enlightenment right?

We each have an identity which we can not escape, if we had no identity we
would not be here. Granted we may not consider that identity heavily and
rely on it as the basis for our actions and beliefs but it remains that we
have an identity regardless. To integrate the ego inot the universal soul is
to understand that "i" is part of the bigger functional group not THE group.

We all have the same ego, that is that we all have a personal identity and
express that identity in many different ways. It is to what degree we place
presedence of ego's actions (the I-me factor) in our life that is the
question. Is everything we do only for the benefit of self?

Essentially, I see this as being equivalent to being relaxed about myself,
 which somehow doesn't
seem to be quite the same idea as the one we started with, i.e.,
 "enlightenment." >>

This seems like a big jump: from relaxing with ones ego equated to
integrating same ego into universal soul. It seems to me that being relaxed
about oneself is seeing the ego clearly without neurosis, psychosis, or
other
occlusions. Is this clarity the same as enlightenment? It seems the
identity is still based on the individual.

Of course, you may be speaking as the universal soul already...
