Subject: [K-list] ego Was: seemingly stupid questions about K

   It seems that these questions are mostly about the use of terminology...
easy to get confused, as the same words mean very different things to
different persons and technologies.
  I normally use "ego" to refer to the limiting decisions, fears and
beliefs of the individual that are the content of Karma, and create the
sense of separation from the Divine. The opinions that form personality.
  The process of K. is to clear these out, as they form blockages in the
energy body that interfere with the free flow of life energy and intuitive
information.
  In psychology the term ego is used differently, to refer to a sense of
oneself as a healthy individual personality.. as opposed to the Eastern
sense of the One Self, as the universal consciousness of All that Is.
  Where the two things come together, is that they both mean "who you think
you are". Ask most folks who they are, and you will get a list of
statistics and opinions, like a resume or a personal advert.
   Ask a Yogi who they are and they will tell you they are All that Is, and
so are you.
  The process of integration is one of releasing the previous
identification with the ego-self, the belief in oneself as joe shmo who
drives a truck, to the realization that the identity of joe is an illusion
of perception.. that joe is merely the mechanism whereby the Divine Self
experiences physical, linear existence.

  Someone who identifies themselves with the formless light of the Divine,
over the attributes and statistics of the vessel, would be said to have no
ego in some eastern concepts, and an oversized psychotic ego, in some
psychiatric terms. LOL!!
  A lot of the psychic phenomena associated with K, like esp and empathy,
are the result of the ego barriers breaking down, and allowing information
from the collective to come thru.
  The unconscious has been getting this information all along: we are all
psychic.. but the ego-consciousness was not getting the information before,
because limiting decisions and beliefs filtered it out of perceptions. Lots
of folks get psychic impressions, that they don't pay attention to. They
write it off as "only imagination".. but imagination comes from the
unconscious, too.
