Hi,

I am Lalan from India. Having read this discussion on EGO I want to write a
couple of facts :
- Ego is conciousness and we all are born with this.
- The term "dropping or destroying the ego" is a misnomer in the
Eastern philosophy and in my own opinion too.
- The Eastern philosophy says that let this ego of yourself merge with
the Supreme_Ego i.e., the Supreme Conciousness to become one with that.
It is like letting a drop of water to merge with the ocean. Once that
happens, the individual drop has no identity of its own. It becomes the
ocean as it is inseparable from the ocean.
- The supreme happiness of the life lies in the fusion of the self-ego
with the supreme ego. When that happens, in the Eastern
philosophy, we say that the "Swaroop Shakshatkar" has happened. That
is the self has understood the true meaning of the self.

So, its all fusion. Its the union with the Supreme power there is no
dropping or killing of ego.

Feel free to write back.

Lalan
