You know - I've been giving some thought to this for the past day or so as I
drive. It seems to me that much of my life over the past several years was
designed to show me that I am not in control of myself - let alone my
children, husband, job...in short my life. I think that losing the ego is
tied into this realization - gaining the realization that some other force
is
in control.

When hit by a crisis - my first thought is to manage that crisis - to assume
that I know what desired result will spring from what action of mine. That
is ego. I am learning to change that - to wait for the sitaution to
develop,
and wait for the small voice inside me to suggest.

I see myself increasingly as a finger of God (Gaiea, Allah, Goddess, the
light..whatever) - here to support life. I try to hold myself open to the
whole of God - to be open to that voice within me, and to trust it. It can
be hard - but it sure as hell wasn't easier dealing with things using only
my
own ego.
