Has your friend tried the "Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram," which
invokes the four archangels (Micha-el, Gabri-el, Rapha-el and Ari-el)
for protection? Ain't no entities getting past them! This is publicised
by the Golden Dawn society, and may be appropriate - I'm no mage, so I
don't know. Note that it should only be done while the Moon is waxing
(or waning - I don't remember which! Check it out). I'm sure it will be
on the Internet somewhere.
