Hi Katharine,
 Loved your message. And yes, I know what you mean
about a certain kind of energy found in the city. But
for me it's not a gentle energy, but rather a nervous
kind of energy that is exhausting for me rather than
invigorating.

 The ocean is my favorite natural place to be. I
take many trips 'off season' to Cape May (Southern most
tip of New Jersey) and I do a lot of drawing, water colors
and just staring (!) there; and I love the smells of the
seaside. I just made a 4 day reservation at a motel there
for November. I can't wait!
