Hi Katharine,
  Do you find living in nature (I live in the city, so
anywhere where there are an abundance of trees, I consider
the 'country'! HA!)....produces an altered state at times
in you?
   Maybe because I live in the city (although I was
raised in the Canadian wilderness), anytime I go camping
or travel out to the countryside, I can feel my mind
shifting
into an altered state. Even the SMELLS do that to me,
particularly
the smell of water and/or pine trees. I can stand with
my face buried in a pine tree for what seems to be hours!,
breathing
in the scent of the pine. Of course my companions think I'm
nuts and they kind of leave me alone to do my 'weird thing'.
