1. The serpent
Each of us has a serpent inside i.e. the head & spine which house the
brain and its extension to the body.
There are various disciplines which revolve around this serpent and
relate to its alignment or to the flow of power within it.
In the Jewish Kabbalah, the serpent is also the name of Satan. In the
story of creation, the serpent was supposed to be Man's servant but
instead tempted him to eat from the Tree of Knowledge thereby bringing
death into the world. When the Messiah comes, the serpent will again be
man's servant.
Another serpent mentioned in Scripture is the Leviathan, a gigantic sea
serpent.
In Yoga, there are various disciplines which revolve around the spine
and the Chakras.
Hatha Yoga for example is mostly a series of exercises and poses aimed
at synchronizing the breath, the heart and the spinal energy and
aligning the spine in order that the energy flow is proper.
The Samadhi experience is the culmination of all the Yogic experiences.
It is caused when the fluid in the tail if the serpent starts flowing up
and reaches the brain. This can also be done with the use of
psychedelics.
Kundalini Yoga is one of the Tantric Yogas. Tantra generally is the
"fast lane" yoga where a faster result may be achieved but there is a
higher risk. Classical Kundalini is the control of the serpent during
the sex act so that the fluid travels up the spine rather than down. If
this is achieved, there should be NO EJACULATION OF FLUIDS.
Practice of kundalini is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. It can cause physical
damage. However most "Kundalini" practitioners nowadays, are either
practicing a form of hatha or just having ejaculatory sex. Often men use
Kundalini to cover up a sexual come on but I'll not discuss this as I
believe the members of this list are sincerely trying to follow a
spiritual path.
Another danger is a slow inclination towards sexual depravity, which is
definitely affecting some of the list members.
ALL YOGAS including Tantra Kundalini require TOTAL CELIBACY except
Married Sex.
Tantra Kundalini usually requires total abstention from ejaculatory
intercourse.
Jewish Kabbalah considers the Kundalini experience up to and including
Samadhi to be a PHYSICAL rather tan spiritual experience.
I'm not trying to criticize anyone. my original intention was to just
lurk and post my series. I was asked to comment so I'm stating the facts
as I know them.
As I said most "Kundalini" practice today is not of the classic Tantric
type and may not be dangerous
