<< Singing the praises of psychedelic drugs to me is a little like singing
the
praises of elective cosmetic surgery. Some folks need a little, some folks
go overboard. You can not necessarily undo any negative afteraffects.

Not everyone is biochemically, mental, emotionally or spirtually wired to
find divinity in a psychedelic experience. Despite the glorious
testimonials
of adherents, many people have damaged themselves beyond repair with
 pschedelic drugs.

I can not seem to write this sentence enough but....noone here, I believe, is
advocating the use of drugs as the only or sure-fire way to find divinty or
sanctity within one's own mind. The testimonials here weren't written as a
way to qualify their use, some of the testimonials were not glorious at all
(i.e JARDON who believes that his K movement was due to cannabis and VILLE
who wont even use caffeine now) They were used as a way to express our
experiences and in discussion of their power in the mind.

Drugs are like anything else ingested by us. We exercise some control over
how much we ingest, when we ingest and for what reasons we ingest. If a
person begins to rely on a drug for some reason (whether it be dependent for
recreation, relaxation, meditation, or whatever) it is their mental weakness.
These drugs, unlike heroin cocaine and crack and other such "body" drugs,
are not physically adicting. When you stop using MDMA, LSD, cannabis your
BODY doesn't need it. That means that they do not screw with what the body
makes and make consumption of the drug physically necessary for normal
functioning. (((Whereas like heroin mimics something you already have in the
body..after you consume heroin a few times your body believes that it no
longer needs to make that chemical because you are feeeding it instead. when
you cut off your supply of heroin your body still thinks that you will supply
it...you need this chemical which heroin mimics...if u have no heroin your
body freaks out and hense you have withdraws. Got me?))) Okay your mind may
think that you need it but that doesn't mean you actually physically HAVE to
have it....they are desires not needs. The desires are in the mind...a mind
which you exercise control over so if a user becomes infatuated with the
drugs use and subsequently places drug use as a main priority who's fault is
that? Not the drug's....but the user who didn't exercise self control. I
simply have no simpathy for people who blame psychedelic drugs which are not
physically addicting for their abuse. I'm not trying to be mean, cut anyone
down but if I start doing drugs all the time instead fo going to school and
work and subsequently screw up my life beyond repair then its my fault for
placing its use before everything else.

<<can end up pushing themselves farther and farther away from
day-to-day life, >>

Hense they did it to THEMSELVES...self control has never been a strong human
point (i.e eatting disorders, obsessive compulsiveness, just say no to just
about anything, can't eat just one pringle can ya)

<<To me, it seems rather escapist and self-serving. >>

People use all sorts of things under the guise of self-help. But one
person's self-help is another's escape. Like you said we are all
biochemically and emotionally wired differently so what works for one person
may not work for another.

<<How well do their hallucinations serve them then? >

Many hallucinations come and many go. Some people may find meaning in them
others may pawn them off as mere drug induced figments of their imagination.
This all depends on the frreamework of the user and the situation for the
drug use..all are subjective and noone can tell you what your hallucinations
mean.

Nope I dont claim to be perfect or that drugs are one of life's perfect
solutions...but their effect is as much at the mercy to the user as the user
is at mercy to them. They can control your life if you let them...so dont
let them. I admit that I have used psychedelics and by no means do i
reccomned them to EVERYONE! Especially someone extremely K active...lets not
add to the alterd states right?

Well that once again is my babbling. Hope i didnt offend anyone this time.
