That's not the usual reaction. Valium (diazepam) is a sedative aimed
mainly at daytime use. Hallucinations are a possible paradoxal reaction. I
sometimestake Valium to make me feel more comfortable when the k gets me
emotionally out of control, I'm irritable or can't get sleep. An Autoflame
(tm) goes to everyone who says that "my child, in meditation shall you
find your peace, instead of these dirty, evil pharmaceuticals". Sometimes,
when you have to deal with other people besides yourself, not sedating
yourself is a very selfish thing to do.

The LSD is not the optimal hallucinogen, despite it's "cult" status as the
archetype of hallucinogens. Other lysergic acid amides are better. But if
you are already spiritual, it doesn't matter. "When you have got the
message, you hang up the phone", as Alan Watts wrote in (I think) Joyous
Cosmology.
