Hello k-list people!

Here are some personal observations regarding the use of psycho-stimulants
with an active kundalini. Ever since my first k-awakening a long time ago
(due to smoking of cannabis), I have occasionally experimented with this
substance and have found that it does the following for me:

a.) It "accelerates" and increases the movement of the shakti in the body.
The chakras seem to become more permeable (one of the main difficulties I've
always had with the kundalini has been a sense of "compressed" chakras.) and
the power moves upward to the top with more momentum.

b.) Subconscious material floats into the consciousness and is more easily
seen & experienced. This happens without the normal process of
rationalization distorting the inner "movies". The subconscious stuff then
seems to be easily understood and is somehow (in the best of cases) expelled
out from the consciousness. This brings a sense of freedom.

c.) It offers a good opportunity to test the strength of ones inner stability
- am I overwhelmed by whatever the drug brings up, do I lose myself in the
corridors of the mind or can I maintain my focus and find the peaceful center
in myself from where I can observe and understand and let it all happen in
complete trust ?

d.) The side effects are mainly a sense of mental and physical fatigue and
general "spaced-outness" during the next day. During this time, the kundalini
activity is usually rather low. Doing yoga asanas and purifiying techniques
have helped in dealing with this.

I don't in any way want to recommend or advocate the use of drugs, everybody
is different with an individual way of reacting and experiencing the world,
these are just my (possibly very limited and misleading) observations. I'm
very aware of the fact that it's really like dancing on the razor's edge ...
As the very wise and equally outrageous aghori Vimalananda stated : "You have
to be able to take the drug (or drink) otherwise it most certainly will come
and take you"

(The three "Aghora"-volumes written by Robert Svoboda offer some truly hairy
stories and fascinating insights into the subject of kundalini, tantra,
Indian mythology etc. Absolutely recommended reading ! )

Finally I'd very much appreciate some comments and insight on the subject of
food and diet. (being new to this list, maybe this has been discussed in
detail before ? In that case, I offer my sincere apologies for hassling you
all with old stuff...)

How do different foods affect the state of mind and the movement of the
shakti? According to Gopi Krishna this was a primordial issue in his
kundalini process. Do you agree? Have any of you found the ideal combination
of food and drink to keep body, mind & spirit in the best of balanced states
? What about occasionally craving and indulging in the "wrong" types of food
(say pizza and chocolate for instance)? Have there been severe reactions to
this? I've found that red wine, meat and other heavy food (in moderation)
does ground me if I'm becoming to far removed from the here & now...

Best wishes & regards
