I can't *begin* to tell you how my life took a downturn when I stopped
drinking and smoking about 15 years ago. All kinds of emotional stuff
came crashing in at one time for me to deal with . . . and I was NOT
equipped to deal with it. I didn't recognize my symptoms as
ungroundedness at first. I didn't get flaky or spacey; I became
emotional. It took me a long time to recognize what that unbalanced
state was, but when I did it became easier to deal with.
