I recall from figuring this in biology when a fellow student asked the
same question, using a rough estimate of 35 childbearing years,
multiplied by 2 eggs (some women produce one, some more) then multiply
again by 12. About 880. DNA/Genes already know how many she will produce
over a lifetime.... if pregnacy occurs then the number of 'childbearing
years' increases, her body will produce the exact # of eggs it is
programed to produce.
At least thats how I remember it, it may not be accurate, school was a
while back and maybe there is more info these days.
