Do the original teachings discuss conservation of semen/sperm or sexual
energy? I know in many older traditions, including Christianity, "spilling
of seed" is a no-no, but I've understood that to mean wasting the stuff. As
in obsessive masturbation and sexual relations for the only purpose of
pleasure, not as an activity of love and growth . . .

You may not buy it, but that's what classic kundalini theory is all about.
The idea of kundalini and the practice of kundalini yoga originated in
the country of India, and if you check out ancient manuscripts such as the
Veda's, the LayaYoga, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, you will find that
the original teachings of kundalini stressed that the aspirant must always
conserve and transform his sexual energy, so that he would be successful
in raising the K all the way to the Sahasrara chakra, located at the top
of the brain.
But in recent years, the original teachings of kundalini have been watered
down to please those who wish to have their cake and eat it too. So now we
have the absurd situation of men attempting to raise their kundalini, and yet
who have ejaculatory sex several times a month. They will never raise their
kundalini this way. The only way for men to successfully raise their
kundalini
and still have sex, is to perform tantric sex, where the male does not
ejaculate.
