There's a difference between being mad as hell
and being mad AT hell.

There's also something called being "positional"
which is ego defending and a self-righteousness.
"My position is right and better than yours."

On the other hand, there's coming from your
commitments. Being committed is the flip side of
being positional (or "tribal" as Carolyn Myss would
language it) This can involve anger. Anger is
simply a standard or value of yours that's been violated
or compromised. Anger is there to summon up all
your energy to do something about it.

If the anger gets stuck simply in resisting what
seems "wrong" then it is never fully free to be used
to forward what you are comitted to.

i.e. you can be angry at a rape and say in self-protective
lashing out (moving against or moving away relationally)
or you can use that emotional energy of anger to forward
the underlying value that rape is a violation of --
namely, that people are respected and cared for in a
world that works for everyone as much as is possilble. One
mode stays stuck resisting a past even that is not even going
on in the moment. Commitment, however means being
on-purpose and boldly loving (if that's what you want to be up
to).

Coming from anger against something being wrong has a
certain quality to it. Qualities like frustration, rage, and
reacting all fit a victim mode instead of a creative mode.
Just know that using your own anger as
a motivational tool and launching off of that conscious of
the larger purpose you choose to be about has an entirely
different quality to it. It occurs life freedom, power, passion,

and creativity.

Knowing this, you're free in any given moment to choose
the quality you will invest your time and energy in. Which one
best suits and serves you? Which one is really being true to
your-
self? And which one moves you in the direction of buildig a
world
you would be grateful and appreciative to enjoy?
