HI DHARMA: Thank you for your kind and helpful response. Because my
situation is complex l'd like to try to clarify what l said with as much
brevity as possible. l don't know if my energy has ever actually moved
down--it may be more a matter of, as Kimberly said, lower chakras opening
after higher ones. l've only been aware of energy and stuff going on in lower
areas without actually knowing which way the energy was moving. l think when
certain teachers may have spoken of "moving energy down" they were perhaps
speaking of opening up lower chakras, which l guess would be something
different. What you said about the way energy circulates over the top and
down the front and then up the back again is the way l've heard it described
by others but have never experienced myself. As l
said, my process has been pretty confusing to me, but one thing does stand
out: l've had most of my problems after going to teachers. My brow chakra
opening 7 yrs ago was problem-free until a teacher gave me pranayama
exercises--l've had headachiness ever since. l went to a swami for help with
the headaches, and it was only after an intense retreat with him that l had
terrible stomach problems and other problems as well. ( One of the things l
was doing at the retreat was focusing alot on my 3rd chakra during
meditation.) After a long time the stomach difficulties got much better,
but my stomach has just continued to be very sensitive and won't tolerate
most medicines. So l don't know if this qualifies as a stomach problem as
much as a state of increased sensitivity.
l told you a few months ago about a
powerful dream l had in which l encountered a swami. My process seemed to
become much more dynamic after that--my brow felt more open and the increased
sensations in my hands and feet appeared to me to indicate a greater flow of
energy overall. A friend who occasionally does reiki on me (which actually
never seems to really help me) was amazed at how different my energy felt.
But a few weeks ago l succumbed and visited a most unconventional catholic
priest who is very gifted. l saw him because he helped a friend of mine with
acitve k. He works with energy and sees and removes entities. Ever since
seeing him l've had more stomach problems again and my brow has been more
painful. So once more l find myself saying "never again"...whatever my paltry
k process has going for it, it seems to prefer being left alone by such
individuals.
l've thought about some of the factors which you listed regarding 3rd
chakra problems. With me the main thing could be fear-related issues,
particularly fear related to mortality and health. (My father and uncles all
died young of heart disease.) l've heard it said that k has a way of finding
our most vulnerable points and then putting them under a magnifying glass. l
was a fairly mild neurotic about health (and a few other issues) prior to
k--now after having my system made much more sensitive and vulnerable by k
for yrs, l know l've become much more neurotic and self protective in some
ways as a result of loss of confidence in some of my body's abilities to
function and to tolerate stress. l've dealt with this largely by taking care
of myself and patiently waiting for things to improve physically, which has
worked to a degree, but l've also gotten more tired of waiting and more
inclined to want to challenge some of my perceived limitations.
Because of low back pain l've been barely able to sit down
for 2 yrs, which has really limited my activities. l don't know how much my
efforts can advance my k process. l've become more concerned about just
trying to lead a fuller life--about trying to make a difference in peoples'
lives. l've read many of the books on k and have benefited from learning more
about it from people like you on the list. Yet, at the same time it's made me
more aware of my own limitations in being able to understand my process or
help it manifest. l have felt my heart become much more open over the past
few years, and my main hope is that with alot of prayer God will smile upon
me in spite of my meager gifts in the mystical realms.
l'm sorry this was so long and hope it
was somewhat responsive to your comments, which l do appreciate.
