I really had decided not so say something about this cause it is
unpleasent but dangit, it followed me into dreamland and disturbed me at

I grew up in the foothills of Mt Rainier, we used to walk the logging
roads and camp out and fish, it was pretty cool.
We knew the rangers that worked the area they told us alot about the
area and the animals, they'd send us home sometimes, usually if there
was bad weather coming but sometimes because they were hunting poachers.
There was one in particular, poacher that is, that we were told about,
he set food out at different locations to draw the animals back again
and again. When he went out to hunt - animals were easy prey, they knew
the scent of humans, and their food, he didnt 'tame' them, but he did
give them a false security.
Animals often pick thru the leavings of campers. Most campers will, like
you, sit in awe and simply watch in wonder,
we were told that the humane thing to do with a wild animal, that is
also hunted for human consumption, is to frighten it away from you...
their curiostity about you, and your delight in them, this is beautiful,
really, but come fall it leaves them vulnerable to the poachers who are
well aware of easy 'campsite' pickins'
there, I said it, not in time to get any sleep, but I do feel better.
