Well, I've got a double scoliosis which isn't too outwardly evident but in
X-rays, my spine curves like an "S." And the pain began with a broken facet
joint in a vertebra where the bottom curve gets started. Interestingly, a
doctor told me that most people with scoliosis have an uneven weight
distribution on the spine, but because mine forms two opposing curves in the
"S," my weight is balanced normally! To me, this is just one of many
ssss-snakey symbols in my life -- signs of a K-child...

Lodine is the brand name of a NSAID called "etodolac". I'm really glad this
was so helpful to you, but people should be careful taking it. (For some
reason, etodolac is particularly toxic for smokers, and should not be used by
anyone who smokes cigarettes.) According to the Public Citizen's Health
Research Group (a consumer's health advocacy organization) etodolac received
a higher rate of adverse drug reports in Britain than other fairly new
NSAIDS. It has been reported to have caused some deaths. It can cause
stomach/intestinal bleeding, impair liver function, prolong bleeding time,
damage bone marrow, and cause severe kidney damage just like other NSAIDS.
In the U.S., it's generally prescribed for the treatment of mild to moderate
pain and symptoms of osteoarthritis.
