Yup, that has been a long held view in many countries.
The Chinese even have a tale about a Chinese
empress who, deciding that she wanted to become a
goddess, shagged over a 1000 young fit (her
subjects, obviously)
men until they all died of exhaustion.
When she had acquired all that male and female energy,
the empress became a goddess. ;) LOL !

So if you want to become a goddess, you'd better
get going gals, a thousand guys
is a lot of ppl. ;)))
