OK, here is the K-list history in a nutshell..
Once upon a time there was a website called the Kundalini Resource
center, put up by Bill Peay. He was getting too many letters with
questions, so he started sending them to a fella named Haakon, who
collected a small file of interested people and would occasionally send out
a newsletter of posts.
Soon after that, June 1996, he handed over his small address list to
Richard Satin, who set up the K-list and it's website on the execpc.com
server.
After a few months he realized being a list Master was not his cup of
tea, and in October he asked for a volunteer to step forward to take over
the list.. I had only been online a few months, and I knew very little
about mailing lists, but my K. seemed to allow me to learn new computer
programs fast ...
Richard had been mostly absent and I had been taking it on myself to
wade into flame wars with buckets of cold water, in service to the list
community.. and I realized that this cyberspace was a garden I needed to
own, to be certain it would thrive, so I could continue to appreciate it's
wild beauty. I took over as List Mystress officially in Feb. 97.
Richard designed the original K-list site, some of which is still the
same on the European mirror run by Frans. Richard gave it site to me, and
on and off I began working on a redesign.. and hunting for an alternate
listserv, because ececpc.com had a terribly cranky mailserv program.
Sometime after that, we had a lot of members complaining about bandwidth
and the K-list had kittens..:)
Several alternate K-lists were created, for more specific topics, by
myself and some other listmembers. Some of them came and went, some still
thrive. A few months ago I was considering closing down the ailing K-sex
list, <kslATnospamonelist.com> but Dharma and percyval nursed it back to health,
and now it is thriving.
A comprehensive listing of all the related K-lists will be up on the
website, soon.

Winter solstice 98 was memorable on the K-list.. celestial events often
effect K., and the solstices around here are often memorable, karma flying
around and hitting the fan. :)
We had a few provocateurs rampant, and I was mostly absent, moving
house.. the execpc.com system was mistaking some members for spam, and
blocking their posts or they were sending to the wrong address, and they
thought I was censoring them.. chaos erupted, I threw in the towel and
moved the list to the list-server.net address on New Year's eve.
I hurriedly put the half finished redesign up on the new web space, in
time to announce it with the first post, and I handed the rest of the
files of the old site and the format for the redesign over to Frans, whom
we have to thank for putting most of the old pages into the new style. He
also hosts the 1996 archives, the "Faces" page with member pictures, on the
European mirror site, and he put up the chat room. He is not on the list at
present, having taken time away to attend some other matters in his life.
Recently, "Team K.", has consisted of myself, as Art Director, Freda as
Webwitch and my slave percyval doing writing and research. We have him to
thank for collecting the enormous new links list:
  http://www.list-server.net/kundalini/links.html
.. and Freda to thank for putting it into html. She has been busy
cleaning up a lot of the pages Frans and I put up too hurriedly to
beautify, such as the cybrary.
percyval has also recently taken over Nancy's position as editor of the
edited digest version of the K-list, for the bandwidth-weary..
The website continues to grow.. still to come are the list of K-lists,
the entire archives searchable, and a section that uses El Collie's "signs
and symptoms" list as an index page of selected posts of each symptom..
plus maybe a few more symptoms that are not on it. There are also plans for
an art gallery, a poetry section, more meditations and essays.
One thing that is needed, is for someone to custom-design a search engine
for the archives. I have them in one honking big text file, and a Cgi
script or whatever is needed that can take the individual posts that fit
the search parameters, and generate an html file around them to deliver
them to the browser. My druid tried to do it in perl and got no place.. and
a searchable archive of the K-list could be a very valuable resource.
So, that's the crew.. Team K., working in service to the mass
consciousness shift that is the incredible wave of K.A. that has been
sweeping the planet. Blessed be.. Mystress..
