I've iniated some discussions with friends - (not the ones that haven't
come to terms yet with my being a practicing buddhist -- yikes!! :)
I usually lead into it obliguely. Something like "You know I found an
interesting website and mailing list the other day. Its about
Kundalini -- an energy based yoga/meditation practice." And wait to
see what they say. So far everyone has just changed the topic.

I was also pretty plain with one friend about describing the energy
shifts and picking up/mirroring other's experiences. She tried to listen
but I could tell she was also just kind of bouncing right back off of it
-- nothing to base comprehension on (?). Certain buddhist teachings
have been described to me as being "self-secret" -- if people aren't
ready for the material, whether reading it or listening to it, they just
don't take it in, almost don't pay attention. I think I understand
that now.

I also mentioned the energy charges/rapture to my meditation instructor,
several times. And got the "standard, don't-worry-about-it, no-info
answers for newbies" response each time. This surprised me because
she's a vajrayana practitioner. I know that involves taking vows to not
reveal information inappropriately. But I wouldn't think that would
prevent her from acknowledging these are not uncommon side effects of
serious practice. (I found another MI.)

Remembering/acknowledging that I need a lot of time for myself right
now. A lot of time alone -- to contemplate and just be fully present
with the changes that are popping up daily for me. I feel so selfish
about it sometimes. And its really affected the amount of time I have
available for friends and family. But I become grumpy, sick (vertigo),
and disoriented if I don't.
