Dear Gopalan,

Like to join your discussion on prayer. You see, for millions of people from
all religions all over the world prayer is one of the methods to get into
direct contact with the divine. Some people meditate, some pray and some do
both. It's up to their choice. Prayer is just one of those ways to get into
direct touch with the divine. Sure, a lot of people may ask for things for
themselves and for others, like asking for guidance, health etc. which is
only part of human nature.

Personally, like you I am more given to meditation than prayer but I do not
see any harm in people saying their prayers. In my opinion, everybody has
the right to get into direct touch with the divine by whatever way suits
them best if they wish to do so. Prayer is one of those ways, always has
been and always will be, all the religions include it in their practise and
therefore it can't be all wrong or otherwise it would imply that they are
all wrong and are totally missing the point... which I doubt.

Yours,
Karin
