As both a Reiki/Seichim 'Master' and k-active, i thought i would add my
opinion. i became k-active prior to receiving my reiki 'attunements'. i
think the reiki has helped me manage the k activity but i am still early in
the process. reiki 1 attunement enables a person to heal/balance themselves
and others. reiki 2 attunement enables distance healing. reiki 3 or master
enables the ability to give the attunement to others.

an attunement simply 'tunes' the individual to the reiki energy conductivity
that is inherent in all of us. reiki works as an objective fact. you do not
have to believe in it...but once you are 'attuned' you will feel it in your
hands (they will be on fire). so reiki practictioners span all religions,
cultures, etc. there is now a movement to take this knowledge from the elite
and wealthy (mastership alone was $10,000.00 and available only by
invitation) and spread it so everyone has access to it. ('modern reiki').
after all, the energy does not belong to anyone.

reiki differs from most healing modalities in that it is intelligent..does
not require that the practitioner exchange energy, karma, etc from others
and takes the ego out of the process. we send the symbols and the energy
does the work. depending on the symbol, the physical, emotional, mental or
spiritual vehicle is worked on. as we heal in reiki, we are also healed so
we are both agent and patient simultaneously. a reiki healing leaves the
reiki practitioner refreshed and feeling wonderful.

there is proof that the symbols are over 2500+ years old and are in tibetan
archives from that time period. for more information, please see the
excellent book 'Essential Reiki' by Diane Stein. i and others are giving low
cost or free attunements so that people can heal and balance themselves.

with affection,
