Dear Robert,

Welcome!

In my experience doing Hatha yoga postures during the day seems to keep the
energy flowing during the night when my spontaneous postures occur.
(modified fish posture, back bends, other spine stretches) It sounds as
though your practice of Tai Chi and Chi Kung serves the same purpose (I'm not
sure about the yerba mate :)).

In my case it seems that the body needs to stretch after the energy rushes
through it. I agree, it feels very good! Surrender I feel is, indeed, the
key--The energy has it's own agenda--and doesn't like being "willed." The
tricky part is surrendering without the willing part, since you know that the
surrendering will in all likelihood bring on what is wanted. But I think
you've discovered this already!

Love, Hillary
