There are what are referred to in Huna Mysticism as "Aka cords". They
are similar to what is described in Physics as the "Superstring" theory,
and "attachments".
Everything you see, everything you touch, creates a thread of energy from
you and it. These threads of attraction are what hold physical reality
together, but usually they are only readily visible when they represent the
union in relationships. The cords of love between people are stronger than
attachments to things, and so more readily visible. They are how we
exchange empathy, love, and information.. on an unconscious level, for most
people. Like "Apron strings" between Mother and child.
When you grow awareness of these threads, then you can begin to
manipulate them with the tools of imagination. Recently I mentioned the
K-list lighthouse.. it is woven of these threads of communication,
connection, in a spiralling weave. Kind of keeps them tidy..
They can be used negatively, as a form of psychic vampirism, as Dave
mentioned, <most often it is a Higher Self consensuality between
victim-abuser to create certain formative life experiences. Free Will is
Goddess' law, even when it doesn't appear so.. IMO.>
With awareness, it becomes very easy to manage these cords.. and if you
are doing energy work, the awareness is important. Sometimes a patient will
continue to draw energy from a healer after the session is finished, and
while this is a good thing in the short term, in the long term it can be
hard on the healer and become a crutch, or negative addiction for the
patient.
I use the cords deliberately, using the metaphor of the "leash and
collar" with my slave-students. The leash represents a "Shaktipat mainline"
umbilical connection to my heart, where they live, :) and has a vampiric
effect on their Karma.. sucks it out. It also represents an exchange of
information.. they hear my voice in their heads answering questions posed
by their thoughts, <mostly handled by my higher self and their
unconscious.. without my awareness..> and I can tune into the inflow of
information and know how they are doing... send love down the cords, or tug
on a leash to get their attention..:) Send messages.. it also helps them
to stay grounded while the Karma is being processed. Kinda miraculous,
really. :) Links us into a group entity.
I also have a lot of folks who read my website, or emails or whatever,
and unconsciously see something they need.. and reach out a cord to attach
to me, seeking it... some of these are negative connections, people who
take issue with what I do. Thinking of me negatively sends out a cord,
too.. but it is still a form of asking for love. I don't mind it. The more
love I send out, the more comes back so folks who ask for love are giving
me a positive investment opportunity in my own wellbeing.. but sometimes
the limitations of linearity can be fatiguing, and in turn, creates
resistance which is even more tiring...
When I notice this effect, I take care of myself by taking care of
everybody. I get deeply grounded, and charge myself with as much energy as
I can.. and then flush it out my head to clear myself.. then I charge
myself up again, and ask to be shown the cords which are no longer serving
my highest good.
I get an image of myself as being in the center of a web, or perhaps a
cocoon with many threads coming from it in all directions. I send the
energy as unconditional love down the cords I am shown, imaging that they
burn up as it passes, like a lit fuse.. and with the intention that the
recipient's higher self choose the form that the love manifests as on the
other end. Whatever they were seeking, in reaching out.
For most folks, knowing about the cords is not very important. The
unconscious takes care of them. With healers, professional psychics and
other folks who are making connections and sharing energy often, it becomes
more important to keep the tools in order and cut cord attachments that no
longer serve..
