HI DAVE: Saw your post and hope all is well. You mentioned a favorite topic
of mine: films -----I'm involved in an art theater where I live. We've been
running a film for 7 months now: LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL. You've probably heard of
it--it's been the most popular film we've ever had in our 9 yr existence and
I think the most popular foreign language film ever in this country. Ican't
say it's a sad film--just a film that will make you feel a range of emotions:
fromsadness to great joy. For 7 months I've cried nearly every day upon
merely thinking about it --it's just lodged itself somewhere in my heart and
has struck a very deep chord--the music is a big part of it --music is my
main thing, and this film has an incredible theme. When it won a couple
oscars ATnospam academy awards I've never laughed and cried so hard at the same
time. IMO no one should miss this film. As far as purely sad films are
concerned, I'll go back to a great film I haven't seen for well over 20 yrs:
THE HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER with Alan Arkin--an early role that was his
best--now that is a great, sad film. I can
relate to strange k symptoms--hope you're doin' ok. jerry
