HI SUSANNE: I'm happy for your success in avoiding "the struggle". The
swami who I mentioned in my post (who told me my k had awakened in a past
life) told me that I should not have had a difficult time of it but for the
fact that I had gotten bad advice from previous teachers as to what practices
to follow. This made sense to me cause my first 6 mos were fine before I went
to a teacher who gave me the practices. So I've natually wondered alot about
what might've been. I've also been generally quite pure in most of my habits:
a vegan diet of organic foods, moderate exercise, no smoking, alcohol or
sexual rrelshps and a concentrated spiritual focus..... I left my last
teacher 3-1/2 yrs ago and have been on my own since then. I've had headaches
and head pains focused at ajna and crown that have prevented me from doing
any spiritual practice other than praying for the welfare of all beings and
designing and maintaining my zen garden, which has been my labor of love. I
understand that I may have harmed myself with practices I did, yet I don't
claim to understand why my process has gone as it has, any more than I
understand why some people go thru this for 20 to 30 yrs. There have been
many great saints in all the traditions who have also gone thru enormous
physical trials and suffering, and I'm not sure if we can know why. In spite
of my physical debilitation and frustration, I know I have grown in my heart,
which I feel is the most important thing.
Just wondering, did you use a teacher
or follow any particular path or set of practices? I'm also interested in
your past life therapy and use of akashic records---there have been many
times I have wished I had access to rescources like those. Thank you for your
kind and helpful response. Your success helps me feel I'm on the right track.
