OK, as I think this is a pretty interesting
discussion, I will share some of my views.
These are my views only and they're pretty radical,
and I don't expect ppl to agree much, but at least
take a look at it and consider it. I'm not
saying I'm right, it's just a result of my
thoughts and views on the I AM and unconditional love:
I believe Hitler had some K.
It is clear that he was driven by forces one
usually do not find in ppl.
He perceived of himself as someone chosen for a
specific purpose, and worked at it with an almost
religious zeal.
The party rallies with the elaborate
semi religious like
ceremonies
were done to support the myth of the German ppl
to become united under one person, namely the Fuehrer.
The Fuehrer was supposed to be the embodiment of
the people, and the myth held that if he was to die,
same would happen to the people and the country.
Hitler wanted all power to be collected in his
hands.
Looking at the some film shots of Hitler in Berlin
in 1945 in some edited and censored shots that show
him shaking so uncontrollably that he has problems
taking ppl in the hand, it is at least easy to under-
stand that he was driven by strong internal forces
that by this time seems to have collapsed in on itself.
In addition, some of the things that Hitler made ppl
do, and I'm not thinking about the
camps, but about the incredible
dedication he got from his
associates and the German people,
it must have been
a mixture of how he was and how
other ppl wished to view him that caused the
reactions he got.
I've heard many stories of the amazing
lengths ppl would go to live up to the myths and
the perceived or real commands of the Fuehrer.
But back to the avatar question.
To a large part of the German ppl in 1933, Hitler
must have seemed an avatar, even though they never
would have used the term. ;)
I personally view Hitler as an avatar in the way he
can teach about the dangers of giving too much
power to one person and to one idea which is based
on hatred of others. And that the ends do not
justify the means.
Yet it doesn't seem that ppl
learn. One should think that after the horrors of
WW2 racism and race based hatred would be expelled.
But it isn't. We all have a responsibility of
learning the lesson ourselves and teaching our
children.
If one cares to read biographies of Hitler, it is
also clear that his views and his reactions
stemmed from a mixture of childhood experiences and
personality. What later happened was a mixture of
what other ppl wished would happen and his own
will.
I do not view Hitler as an evil person,
he was here to teach humanity certain lessons.
I think he
ultimately filled a hole that was bound to appear in
the time and place during which he appeared.
If it hadn't been him it would have been someone else,
maybe not to the same extent, but perhaps with a
similar effect.
OK, I'm through presenting my essentially
apologetic views.
