I was wondering......

It seems that most refer to kundalini as its own seperate entity..like
seperate from ourselves.....this thing that happens one day and freaks us
out...sorta like being invaded by this alien being .... but if it is part
of us..and divine...why is this so??...why is this so traumatic? It
confuses me.
