Hi Dave. I'm in full agreement with you. This is why I
have gone outside where there is plenty of open living space
  to self-actualize.

  I don't know either... there is a Post-Modern side
of me that insists that "American culture" doesn't
even exist, and I must admit that I haven't noticed
much sympathy from anyone other than all the very nice
  people I've met.

I haven't seen this yet, but I have met some very good
blues musicians. The Christian-based missions are also
great places to meet 'very-very-nice people', many of whom
have some pretty interesting jail stories.

Choices, choices... I guess I don't have that issue,
because I'm usually not a very noisy meditator.
I have tho gotten a lot of singing practice in,
while walking along long stretches of highway. (no joke)

I've never found this to be true anyplace on the West
Coast other than LA, but then again maybe I'm just naive.
I'm not a criminal, so what do I care if they do their job.
Happy to help. But you definitely are right about them
being a bit crazy... a lot like real life actually.

??? You make it sound as if such interesting circumstances
are something i'd want to block out instead of learn from.

... until he realized that the yogi set him up for it,
having seen the potential for Nanak's stories to sell many
volumes of intro textbooks for their religion.

Anyway the whole point is not 'being homeless'...
it's that I've sought out what you call 'living spaces'
that inspire me. Where I am now is ideal, and
when I'm bored with that I'll find another place.
The world is nothing but a big open space with lots
of stuff to play with. My best wishes to you and
everyone to be always finding your own perfect 'home'.

btw :) I'd be happy to accept any invitations to your homes,
and as I'm comfortable with myself as a charity case
(as i am providing a helpful service to those who need
to give things away), I'll be happy to help you 'clean up'
so to speak. (seriously - i'd love to meet any of you,
and you'd have a chance to see what a quiet humorless dummy
i am in real life. in fact, the unexpected contrast
may give you shaktipat right there.) now in berkeley CA.
